My big question was 'What was life like as a Suffragette?' In my opinion I believe that it would have been hard in a way that they had to fight for women rights. I also think they had a lot of wisdom and courage.
In 1905, life for women would have been very different to life today. Although there had been many changes over the proceding 50 years, women were still seen as very different to men under both the eyes of the society and the law. Women were educated differently, they had fewer rights both in and out of marriage, and importantly, they werent able to vote in national elections.
The Suffragettes were treated badly, some of the ways that they were treated badly were some of the words and tones spoken towards them. They were also treated very badly in prison including being forced to eat when they decided they would start to go on hunger strikes. The government treated them badly by not giving them the right to vote, they werent fair playing favourites with genders and abilities.
